Lung mets on the x-ray.. but Shilo is doing fine

Today was the 9 month checkup and another x-ray.  Was super happy that the 6 month x-ray was clean.  But today’s x-ray was not good news.

Circled in red, lower right… that innocent looking fuzzy dot is anything but innocent.  Its what will kill my Shilo.  There were some other abnormalities but this is the big one.

Shilo was a good girl for her exam… she’s sleeping now.

Shilo is otherwise fine… nothing to report.. peeing pooping eating drinking… doing things that Shilo does everyday.

  1. Paul, I’m sorry to hear about the met, I know that wasn’t easy but dang you and Shilo have such great attitudes. So impressive! I can hear it in your writing voice that you aren’t going to let nothing stop you from living life in the Now, just the way Shilo wants it. ROCK ON and let us know if there’s anything we can do for you guys OK?

    xoxo

  2. I am sorry to hear about the met. Sassy live almost 8 months with mets. So you make the most of the time take lots & lots of pictures (make sure to take some with you in them) spoil her rotten. She doesn’t realize she has that rotten met.

  3. You and Shilo are such a great team!! A STRONG FORCE!

Nope, not good news, but THE most important thing is Shilo clearly doesn’t care what the xrays say and she’s feeling great!!! She continues to be a MIRACLE DOG and one of our heroes!!

Ditto what everyone has said about you and Shilo! TJ is still in your corner cheering for you, as we all are!

Did “they” suggest any follow up treatments….metronomics..etc.? Or do they just stick to there experimental program and that’s it?

Sending best wishes for continued quality time…and lots of spoiling and loving!

  4. Thanks for all the kind words.

Seeing that little white splotch really put things into focus. For 9 months Shilo has been happy and healthy that I almost forgot she had cancer. Even now she’s out in the cold doing what Husky’s do in the cold…

The vet offered to aspirate one of the other ‘new’ areas because they had no idea what it was.. only that it wasn’t there the last x-ray. I declined because as long as Shilo is healthy and happy wasting what little time she has on a procedure that will not cure her means less time at home, on the couch or in the snow for Shilo.

I don’t plan to change anything as far as her treatment is concerned… at this point its all borrowed time… and I don’t want to waste it in a vets office if I don’t have to. Shilo has some running and playing to do.
